General Questions
Yes, this is called additional quantum of pension and is available for pensioners who have attained a certain age as follows:

Yes, the rates related to additional pension as applicable in the case of old pensioners hold good for family pensioners, as well.
Step 1: | Write an Application to the Treasury Officer requesting for a forwarding letter to the Principal Accountant General, Nagaland. |
Step 2: | Along with the application provide photocopies of necessary supporting documents. For rectification of Date of Birth, provide admit card of Class 8 or 9 or 10 (preferably Class 10 admit card) or Birth Certificate. For rectification of Name, provide a Notarised Affidavit. |
Step 3: | AG will scrutinise, verify the claims and intimate the Treasury Office concerned if any changes/corrections are to be made. |
Documents to be produced:
Step 1: | Forwarding Letter along with clearance from P&AR Department from the concerned Head of Department to the Treasury. |
Step 2: | PwD ID card from Social Welfare Department (which shall be issued after examination by a competent medical board). |
Future good conduct is the implied condition for grant/continuance of pension.The appointing authority may, by order in writing, withhold or withdraw a pension or a part thereof, whether permanently or for a specified period, if the pensioner is convict serious crime or is found guilty of grave misconduct.
Family pension is payable to one member of the family at a time in the order and for the period as under:
- In the case of a widow or widower, up to the date of death or remarriage, whichever is earlier.
- Children below 25 years of age in the order of their age (or till they get married) or till they start earning more than the amount of minimum family pension along with dearness allowance thereon.
- For the lifetime to any son/daughter with physical/mental disability of mind (including mentally retarded) or physically crippled or disabled and who is unable to earn a living.
- Family pension may be paid to the parents who were wholly dependent on the Govt. Servant when he/she was alive.
The commuted portion of pension shall be restored after 15 years from the respective dates of first payment of pension.

Procedure for Fresh Pension Payment
Step 1: | The Pensioner should bring their personal copy of Intimation Slip of Payment Order, Gratuity and Commutation Payment Order which issued by the Office of the Principal Accountant General. (These are collected by the Nodal Officer of the pensioner’s parent Department). |
Step 2: | Visit the Treasury concerned (where the pensioner has opted for first
payment) and go the Establishment section of the treasury. * The Establishment section varies depending on the treasury. |
Step 3: | After submitting your documents and physical verifications by the Treasury Officer and getting the PPO book signed by the Treasury Officer, go to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office for further physical verification by the Additional Deputy Commissioner. |
Step 4: | Go back to the Treasury and submit both copies of PPO book to the Pension Section. |
Step 5: | Finally, the signature should be given in the TR form 37 (issued by the Treasury) and Office register for record along with photocopies of the following Documents: |
- Bank passbook first (details) page.
- Aadhar Card
- PAN Card
Intimate the Treasury from where the Pensioner was drawing his/her Life pension.

- Letter of guardianship (in case the nominee is a Minor i.e., below 18 years of age)
