Yes, this is called additional quantum of pension and is available for pensioners who have attained a certain age as follows:

Yes, the rates related to additional pension as applicable in the case of old pensioners hold good for family pensioners, as well.
Documents to be produced:
Step 1: | Forwarding Letter along with clearance from P&AR Department from the concerned Head of Department to the Treasury. |

Future good conduct is the implied condition for grant/continuance of pension. The appointing authority may, by order in writing, withhold or withdraw a pension or a part thereof, whether permanently or for a specified period, if the pensioner is convicted of a serious crime or is found guilty of grave misconduct.
Family pension is payable to one member of the family at a time in the order and for the period as under:
The commuted portion of pension shall be restored after 15 years from the respective dates of first payment of pension.

All details like First name, middle name, Last name, DOB, Year of Birth, etc. should tally in all these documents. Nominee's details should be tallied as well.
Step 1: | The Pensioner should bring their personal copy of Intimation Slip of Payment Order, Gratuity and Commutation Payment Order issued by the Office of the Principal Accountant General. |
Step 2: | Visit the Treasury concerned (where the pensioner has opted for first payment) and go to the Establishment section of the treasury. |
Step 3: | After submitting documents and physical verification by the Treasury Officer, go to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office for further verification. |
Step 4: | Go back to the Treasury and submit both copies of the PPO book to the Pension Section. |
Step 5: | Sign the TR form 37 and office register along with photocopies of the required documents. |

For opening of NPS Account/PRAN, one has to submit duly filled CSRF-G form at the respective Nodal Office with all the required documents listed in the form.
A Nodal Office is a concerned Treasury/Sub-Treasury Office where subscriber’s DDO is listed .
Tier-I is a mandatory Account for Govt employees. When a subscriber submits CSRF, he/she is applying for tier-I account, whereas tier-II is completely voluntary, it can be opened/closed by subscriber anytime.
CSRF is an abbreviated term for Common Subscriber Registration Form. This form is used for registration in NPS.
A user ID is a twelve-digit number printed on PRAN Card. It is used by a subscriber for login into NPS Account.
An I-pin is a password, a secret pin used for login into NPS Account.

Yes, a subscriber can get Partial/ Conditional Withdrawal from PRAN/NPS account.
A subscriber can get up to 3 times partial/conditional withdraw throughout his/her service length.
In case of loss of PRAN card, subscriber may download ePRAN in PDF format by login into subscriber account, select Track Transaction, select Download then select ePRAN card. It is free of cost. However, if a subscriber applies for Reprint instead of download, it is chargeable with a penalty of Rs.50/-.
After any correction like subscriber name, date of birth, father’s name, subscriber may download ePRAN in PDF format by login into subscriber account, select Track Transaction, select Download then select ePRAN card. It is free of cost. However, if a subscriber applies for Reprint instead of download, it is chargeable with a penalty of Rs.50/-.
If a subscriber lost or forgot i-pin/password, he/she may go to subscriber login page, enter user ID/PRAN, select Reset password then select Using OTP then select Generate OTP, fill PRAN details and type New Password, then select SMS or email and submit the OTP.

Yes, it is possible and also recommended.
Continuing with the same/old PRAN at new job after leaving/resigning will not cause any issue nor will it affect a subscriber’s date of retirement, as after joining a new job, his/her date of joining and date of retirement can be rectified.
For transaction statement download, log into subscriber account, select Account Statement from dashboard then Generate Statement.
To check/download missing transaction statement, log into subscriber account, select Account Statement from dashboard then select Contribution Statement and then tap on Search on the shown current financial year.
Subscriber’s application for Partial/Conditional is rejected mostly due to subscriber’s bank details mismatch. If a subscriber’s bank details in the NPS data provided is not Flagged as Salary Account then it will result in rejection of withdrawal application.
For Partial/Conditional withdrawal, subscriber can withdraw up to maximum of 25% of Subscriber share of contribution. Govt share of contribution is not included in calculation of Partial/Conditional withdrawal.
For Partial/Conditional withdrawal, subscriber must log in to Subscriber account/PRAN, select Manage My Withdrawal from Dashboard, then select Tier-I, then select Initiate Request, submit the already mention PRAN, then select the percentage as required and then tick the Reason for withdrawal then select Online banking verification if successfully verified then go ahead with OTP/eSign. Submit the OTP and note down the Acknowledgement Number and go to Nodal Office /Treasury for authorization.

Yes, subscriber may submit duly filled 601 PW form attested by concerned DDO and submit the same to the Nodal Office (concerned Treasury) along with documents viz Bank Passbook/cancelled Cheque and Proof of reason for withdrawal. However, it is advised that applying offline must be taken as the last resort.

If a subscriber dies during service i.e. before retirement, his/her NPS corpus fund will be claimed by the successor. If the total holding amount in NPS account is less the 5 lakh during the demise of subscriber, his/her successor/claimant is entitled to get full amount withdrawal. And if the total holding amount in NPS account is more the 5lakh during the demise of subscriber, his/her successor/claimant is entitled to get 20% withdrawal and the remaining 80% must be invested in ASP (Annuity Service Provider) such as LIC, SBI Life, Bajaj Allianz, etc. for annuity (pension salary).
Yes. Pension salary under NPS is called Annuity. When a subscriber retires by superannuation/length of service, he/she will get 60% of total corpus fund in withdrawal. The remaining 40% will be used for buying/investing ASP (Annuity Service Provider) such as LIC, SBI Life, Bajaj Allianz, etc. to get annuity subscriber have to pick the ASPs choices. Mode Payment of annuity by the ASPs may be made monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/annually based on the subscriber/successor choice.
ASP ((Annuity Service Provider) is/are insurance companies which provide annuity to the investor/subscriber after an employee exit from NPS. No. There will not be any separate payment from govt. side. As govt. has already contributed its share when a subscriber contributes his/her monthly NPS deduction, and it is uploaded together in subscriber’s PRAN Account.
From January 2010 till March 2019, the share of govt’s contribution is equal amount (100% matching amount) to subscriber’s share and from April 2019 onwards govt’s share of contribution has been enhanced to 14% of subscriber’s Basic Pay + DA, e.g. if subscriber’s share is 2000/- then govt will contribute 2800/-.
Contractual/Adhoc/Fixed employees cannot register/open NPS Account in Govt sector. It is possible after regularization.

To update/change nominee in PRAN, subscriber may log into PRAN, select Manage My Account, select Update My Profile the select Update Nomination, submit the PRAN then add nominee(s)as required and verify it with eSign and OTP received. HOWEVER, IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED NOT TO CHANGE/UPDATE NOMINEE AFTER THE DEATH OF SUBSCRIBER.

No. However, there are some cases with reference to the Finance Department OM NO.FIN/ESTT-3/04(PT)(VOL-I) DATED 3RD APRIL 2023 and OM NO.FIN/ESTT-3/04(VOL-I) DATED 11TH JUNE 2013. Only those covered under the above OMs are Eligible to reverse/switch from NPS to OPS/GPF.
